Music with Mrs. Snowman

Students in Grades 3 and 4 participate in a standards based general music education course.  In this course students will learn basic music theory, music history and how music affects and is affected by cultures. Students will perform in at least one concert per school year.  Students will learn basic Ukulele skills and learn to read basic musical notation. 


Students in Grades 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in band and/or chorus. Choral students will learn basic singing techniques by learning and performing music of various genres. Band students have the opportunity to learn a band instrument and perform as a group with their peers. Choral and band students can expect to perform in at least 1 concert per school year.

Students will be exploring different technologies and Computer Science lessons: 3D Printing, 3D Pens, Sphero, Merge Cube, Coding, VR Googles, Robotics, Green Screen, Keyboarding, and Google for Education Lessons

Our libraries are an integral part of our instructional program that provides critical twenty-first century skills necessary to create lifelong readers, learners, and ethical users of technology.

During Physical Education class students will learn lifelong activities and team building activities. Some examples of lifelong activities include: flag football, soccer, volleyball, floor hockey, pickle ball, basketball, kickball, softball and others. Some examples of team building activities include: burglar alarm, magic carpet, battleship, and others. When the students move on they will have the knowledge of lifelong activities and learn how to work together as a team to reach a goal.
